Edinburgh Fringe

August invariably means we shall be heading “up north” for some mind bending and stretching not too mention physical exhaustion.

This year has been no exception. Returning yesterday from a six day round trip, taking in a bit of Shropshire and another bit… the Lake District.

As ever Edinburgh was buzzing with colour and noise and of course the unexpected, which always makes for a challenging and exciting time.

We saw some comedy, some funny, some not so funny! Dance groups, a considerable improvement on last years efforts (disaster in a hammock!). A fantastic drum group called Tago. An Aboriginal story and dance which was brilliant and funny (in parts).

A rather depressing drama on the future of Mankind. Seen first thing, took most of the day to get over it! Though it was a tour de force by the performer, who was excellent.

Some lovely meals were taken as well, nicely ended at Michael Neave’s gaff in our basement, always good food. This year joined by Rick and later Lucy, daughter of Rich and Trish, our annual Fringe companions.

Now a nice quiet September please…
